Ancelotti, the most successful manager
Carlo Ancelotti has won the tournament five times as a manager: twice with Milan (2003 and 2007) and three times with Real Madrid (2014, 2022 and 2024).

Three in a row under Zidane
With Zinedine Zidane on the bench, Real Madrid won in 2016, 2017 and 2018. He is the only manager to win three Champions League titles in a row.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the all-time top scorer
Cristiano Ronaldo leads the all-time list with 140 goals, ahead of Messi (129) and Lewandowski (109), through the 2025–26 season.

Haaland, more than a goal a game
Erling Haaland has scored 61 goals in just 60 Champions League games: the best ratio among the competition's top scorers.

The biggest win in a final
In 2025, Paris Saint-Germain beat Inter 5-0 in Munich: the biggest margin in a European Cup final. A year later, in 2026, they retained the title on penalties against Arsenal.

A perfect Bayern
In 2020 Bayern Munich won all 11 of their Champions League matches, something nobody had done before.

The anthem, inspired by Handel
The Champions League anthem was composed by Tony Britten in 1992 and is inspired by Handel's "Zadok the Priest".

The "big ears" trophy
The trophy is nicknamed "big ears" for its large handles. It stands about 74 centimetres tall and weighs around 7.5 kilos.
